Hiking to Bullpen

While Jeff and Jocelyn were here for Thanksgiving, we all hiked to Bullpen, which is a favorite hike of the Foxes at Clear Creek about an hour from here.  We had a lot of fun.
This was at the ruins of an old house along the hike.
Of course looking at the ruins is not enough, we have to climb up onto the walls!
...and walk along the top of the roof line.
Does the Fox family have a general death wish for their children?..I'm not sure.
This is the wall that they're climbing on, just to give a little perspective
And where we stopped there's a creek to play in.
Was the water warm?  Absolutely not! It's November!  But does that stop any of these children?
No.  The kids finagle a Blizzard out of Grandpa for whoever will go down the "slide".  (Another Fox tradition)
And of course I hadn't thought to bring swimsuits, so with my kids in their underwear all of the kids (and Jeff) went down that slide!  What kind of a family is this?!
And here's all the "grumpy" faces.  This was the only picture I took where everyone was looking with their eyes open!
And this was the amazing view on the drive home! (And on the way we stopped and got those Blizzards)

Those unprepared kind of trips usually make for the best memories anyway, right? Looks like a fun time and a gorgeous place to go.
