Christmas Surprise!

We had a great Christmas with a bunch of fun surprises from Santa and each other. Then we went over to Aaron's family's house for some wonderful food and a skype conversation with Kevin in Mexico. Our biggest surprise, however came when we got home in the evening and saw that our front door had been left wide open!  SURPRISE! Our heater had been blasting all day to make up for the cold air barreling in through the door, so the upstairs were absolutely blazing hot!  I'm talking about 90 degrees!  Then, there was another surprise! All of a sudden Aaron said "kids! get upstairs!" They listened to him, then he said "there's an animal in the house!" Of course my first thought is "Oh no! a skunk!" Luckily, it was not a skunk, but it was a stray cat who had found it's way in from the cold. SURPRISE! We lured/chased it out of the house, but it hung around meowing loudly at our front and back doors alternately for two days wanting back in the house. The kids (Jenna, particularly) were so sad for it, but I'm not very nice and told them they couldn't feed it cuz I wanted it to go away! Wow! What fun!
